My Trip to the KLCC Book Festa !
Okay, here is it.
I woke up at 7 am.
My father was out. He told me we would go about 11 plus since the traffic now was still busy.
So, alright. More time for me to sleep and dream....
I read the Running for Her Life (Sweet Valley University) Thriller Edition by Francine Pascal for about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

I read the Running for Her Life (Sweet Valley University) Thriller Edition by Francine Pascal for about 1 hour and 20 minutes.

Very interesting book. Crime, fame and murder all mixed in one. ... Waiting for my father to come back...Sleep...oink2
When I woke up, it was about 11 plus, daddy came back. I ate my pan mee and later, went to bath. After we got out of the house bout 12.45 pm, we fetched my friend, KK and sent my brother to work.
The journey to Kl took about 35 minutes. Then, we stopped at one signboard. One saying JALAN WISMA PUTRA and the other BANDAR RAYA. We took bandar raya...and soon realized we took the wrong one. My father drove....pass through the SMART tunnel and took Jalan Tun Razak.
Finally, we went down to the Suria KLCC car park. After some walking, we finally reached The KLCC Book Fest! It was big but not that big. A lot of people were there. Some of them wearing mask to protect themselves from the H1n1 virus. The entrace fee foor adults were rm2 and for students was free! Yippi. Penjimatan= RM 4.
We entered about 3 pm and came out around 5 pm. I bought 14 books cossting around rm 350! (which is super cheap). There were discounts and rebates everywhere! ...my heaven... books-spree.... haha...
Anyway, for my next post it will be about the current books I have. And later on, it will be a post about the books I just bought!

War and Death?
| | |
| Body: | The exams are coming AGAIN way too soon. I haven't started studying! Yet I waste my time reading novels. Oh, and yeah. I've just started reading The Reader's Digest now when it have been rotting in the cupboard for years. I'm writing this post is because I feel like I need and want to. I've just finished reading The Reader's Digest ..(book section)...for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Yes, I admit. I'm a book lover. A person who loves great writing and literature. Well, I've been reading a book entitled ' We Shall Not Sleep' by Anne Perry which gives a certain picture about World War One ....one of the greatest wars in History FYI. To find more info about it, pls visit: www. It is really fascinating and scary at the same time. The ugly truth about war. Yet, I admire the soldiers who have fought for their country. Boys were forced to be soldiers (13-18 of age) at such a young age all in the name of country. Willing to fight for what they love most. Here: A poem (its long...so pls take ur time readin...) 1915: The Trenches by: Conrad Aiken (1889-1973) I All night long, it has seemed for many years, We have heard the terrible sound of guns, All night long we have lain and watched the calm stars. We cannot sleep, though we are tired, The sound of guns is in our ears, We are growing old and grey, We have forgotten many simple things. Is this you? Is this I? Will the word come to charge today?... All night long, all night long, We listen and cannot close our eyes, We see the ring of violet flashes Endlessly darting against the skies, We feel the firm earth shake beneath us, And all the world we have walked upon Crumbles to nothing, crumbles to chaos, Crumbles to incoherent dust; Till it seems we can never walk again, That it is foolish to have feet, foolish to be men, Foolish to think, foolish to have such brains, And useless to remember The world we came from, The world we never shall see again ... All night long we lie this way, We cannot talk, I look to see what you are thinking, And you, and you,-- We are all thinking, 'Will it come to-day?' Get your bayonets ready, then-- See that they are sharp and bright, See that they h ave thirsty edges, Remember that we are savage men, Motherless men who have no past ... Nothing of beauty to call to mind, No tenderness to stay our hands ... ... We are tired, we have thought all this before, We have seen it all and thought it all, Our thumbs are calloused with feeling the bayonet's edge, We have known it all and felt it all Till we can know no more. II All night long we lie Stupidly watching the smoke puff over the sky, Stupidly watching the interminable stars Come out again, peaceful and cold and high, Swim into the smoke again, or melt in a flare of red ... All night long, all night long, Hearing the terrible battle of guns, We think we shall soon be dead, We sleep for a second, and wake again, We dream we are filling pans and baking bread, Or hoeing the witch-grass out of the wheat, We dream we are turning lathes, Or open our shops, in the early morning, And look for a moment along the quiet street ... And we do not laugh, though it is strange In a harrowing second of time To traverse so many worlds, so many ages, And come to this chaos again, This vast symphonic dance of death, This incoherent dust. III We are growing old, we are older than the stars: You whom I knew a moment ago Have walked through ages of silence since then, Memory is forsaking me, I no longer know If we are one or two or the blades of grass ... All night long, lying together, We think in caverns of dreadful sound, We grope among falling boulders, We are overtaken and crushed, we rise once more, Performing, wearily, The senseless things we have performed so often before. Yesterday is coming again, Yesterday and the day before, And a million others, all alike, one by one, Sulphurous clouds and a red sun, Sulphurous clouds and a yellow moon, And a cold drizzle of endless rain Driving across them, wetting the barrels of guns, Dripping, soaking, pattering, slipping, Chilling our hands, numbing our feet, Glistening on our chins. And then, all over again, after grey ages, Sulphurous clouds and a red sun, Sulphurous clouds and a yellow moon ... I had my childhood once, now I have children, A boy who is learning to read, a girl who is learning to sew, And my wife has brown hair and blue eyes ... Our parapet is blown away, Blown away by a gust of sound, Dust is falling upon us, blood is dripping upon us, We are standing somewhere between earth and stars, Not knowing if we are alive or dead ... All night long it is so, All night long we hear the guns, and do not know If the word will come to charge to-day. IV It will be like that other charge-- We will climb out and run Yelling like madmen in the sun Running stiffly on the scorched dust Hardly hearing our voices Running after the man who points with his hand At a certain shattered tree, Running through sheets of fire like idiots, Sometimes falling, sometimes rising. I will not remember, then, How I walked by a hedge of wild roses, And shook the dew off, with my sleeve, I will not remember The shape of my sweetheart's mouth, but with other things Ringing like anvils in my brain I will run, I will die, I will forget. I will hear nothing, and forget ... I will remember that we are savage men, Motherless men who have no past, Nothing of beauty to call to mind No tenderness to stay our hands ... V We are tired, we have thought all this before, We have seen it all, and thought it all. We have tried to forget, we have tried to change, We have struggled to climb an invisible wall, But if we should climb it, could we ever return? We have known it all, and felt it all Till we can know no more ... Let us climb out and end it, then, Lest it become immortal. Let us climb out and end it, then, Just for the change ... This is the same night, still, and you, and I, Struggling to keep our feet in a chaos of sound. And the same puff of smoke Passes, to leave the same stars in the sky. VI Out there, in the moonlight, How still in the grass they lie, Those who panted beside us, or stumbled before us, Those who yelled like madmen and ran at the sun, Flinging their guns before them. One of them stares all day at the sky As if he had seen some strange thing there, One of them tightly holds his gun As if he dreaded a danger there, One of them stoops above his friend, By moon and sun we see him there. One of them saw white cottage walls With purple clematis flowers and leaves, And heard through trees his waterfalls And whistled under the eaves; One of them walked on yellow sand And watched a young girl gathering shells-- Once, a white wave caught her hand ... One of them heard how certain bells Chimed in a valley, mellow and slow, Just as he turned to go ... VII All night long, all night long, We see them and do not remember them, We hear the terrible sounds of guns, We see the white rays darting and darting, We are beaten down and crawl to our feet, We wipe the dirt from mouths and eyes, Dust-coloured animals creeping in dust, Animals stupefied by sound; We are beaten down, and some of us rise, And some become a part of the ground, But what do we care? We never knew them, Or if we did it was long ago ... Night will end in a year or so, We look at each other as if to say, Across the void of time between us, 'Will the word come to-day?' ...tats all... kat=) |

Pantun! Here We Go!
Forget about the title. I know it doesn't really sounds right, does it? No. Yeah. I know. Anyway, its been a long time. My fingers are getting itchy. They need to type something crappy so here it is, for all of you to see.
For those who do not know what is pantun. It is a poem. A malay poem. There are rules that one have to follow in order to create a pantun. It's very hard to explain but nevermind.
Here's one example:
(me and me fren did)
Pergi ke taman melihat burung kenari,
Yang hinggap di bahu Ainan,
Antara teman perempuan dengan kawan sejati,
Yang manakah anda pentingkan?
Nice, isn't it? Haha...Back to topic. Last week, my teacher decided to have a pantun competition. There must be four representatives from each group. Each representative must at least have 2 questions and 2 answers which all together...empat pantun. I cannot deny it was a very fun experience.
Last Friday, they had the first round which was between Group 1 and 4. Once Group 1 was taking too much time, till Muhaimin got angry and said:
Pergi ke kedai membeli mi,
Tolong jangan bazirkan masa kami.
He said it over-dramatically. Melody too high. Pitching lari...alamak...ai yo yo...
It was super funny but damn, does he has a talent. I mean, really. He can be a great speaker in the future. He has the confidence. The looks? The voice. But maybe just not the height. WAKAKA but he is a really great bundle of fun. Did I forget to mention?
He's my class monitor....with a lot of tactics inside his sleeves. Oh, does he just loves to sing ans dance in class. Our all-time free entertainer...haha...
Here's one example my tuition teacher did:
Kita hidup di zaman sensasi,
Zaman yang penuh cabaran,
Ilmu dikongsi ikhlas dari hati,
Menuju ke mercu kejayaan.
The fight between the two groups lasted almost one hour. Finally, the 4th group if I'm not mistaken won which consists of Akif, Hazim, Fara and of course, our class monitor Muhaimin.
Today, my group went up against the 2nd group
2nd group:
Adila- budak baik
Anis- bendahari pengawas
Claudine- my 'hubby' ...hahaha...
Lokman- da 'cool' guy...
3rd grouppie...muaxz grouppie...
Mimi- the girl who is always hapi
Katherine- the cina selalu cute gurl (ye, aq suka perasan. ade mslah ke?!)
Shafiqah- loud and funny
Hilman- cool, relaxed
HAHA !
A few pantun for you!
Kanak-kanak main sorok-sorok,
Bermain di kawasan perumahan,
Janganlah kita saling mengutuk,
Apakah sebab pergaduhan?
Tubuh pendekar berbentuk sasa,
Jangan sekali cuba menghina,
Berkawan berbeza budaya dan bangsa,
Tidak kira Melayu, India dan Cina.
We fought. Hard. We prayed. We played harder. We cried. But no, it didn't stop us. The winds start to blow. The sky started to get dark. It started raining. But we didn't stop....
Over-dramatic?
Okay....anyway, we won!!!
I'm getting to tired to further this post any longer...
Have to sidai kain lepas ni...pastu esok kena bangun pagi...huhu
Gud byez...everyone...
remeba,,,,He'll be there!
Choqzzzz...

p.s- we got second =)

Hear Our Voices !
The government are reverting Science and Maths back into Malay? I was shocked and truly dissapointed when I first heard the news from my Sejarah teacher. Most of us, Malaysians are supporting English and now they are changing it back into Malay? I mean...gosh!
They are obviously not listening to the voices of the people. How can they say they have made many meetings and stuff about this matter and they have finally come up to this conclusion? They are doing this for the future of Malaysia? How can this policy benefit us?
I am a student. I was the last batch of using Science and Maths in Malay (UPSR 2007). I am lucky enough to be able to continue studying in English till Form 5. But here I am, I speak for the silent cries of students. Yes, I am happy but also, truly sad. What about the younger children?
The government are not thinking properly! If this is the result, they have wasted time doing researchs. If they say this is for our future, our future is not going to be a nice one. It will be dark, bleak and full of Malaysians who can't even speak basic English, for goodness sake! We keep telling them, that we support the PPSMI policy but why are they not listening? Are they blind? Are they deaf? Or simply oblivious and dumb? Isn't it so funny that the government are full of educated and wise people yet they have come up with such a stupid descision ???
Why should we continue with English for Science and Maths?
Point 1:
Firstly, English is the international language. Yes, I do not deny that Bahasa Malaysia ia also a very important language as it is our national language but ENGLISH is the INTERNATIONAL language. To be able to compete with other countries, we HAVE to be able to master the English language.
Look at Singapore for instance, they are using English as their main language. What happened to them? They are now known for their good education. A-levels, O-levels and stuff. I have tried for a scholarship to Singapore before which is under Asean Scholarship. In order to pass, you must take three tests. General knowledge, Mathematics and English. General Knowledge was easy. English was okay but you can't say it was easy. Compared to the exams I take at school, theirs is much better and it really tests your English. The standard of our English in Malaysia is low. Very low and that is the main reason why the education system in Malaysia is not regconized globally. Next was Maths. It was super hard! Can u believe that the test is meant for Secondary One? It was like doing a SPM test!
Point 2:
Learning Science and Maths in English does not decrease our patriotism. It is so funny that people can come up with such ideas....gosh! Next, they would be saying.
Chinese, better don't learn Mandarin!
Indians, don't learn Tamil!
Why? ....they are scared that we would be less patriotism. What are you guys trying to say actually? That learning other languages is wrong? Maybe, we should stick to one language only and forget about communication with other nations. Please be more open-minded! Learning many languages is now the latest trend. Being proficient in English doesn't mean we can't be good in Malay too. We can be proficient in both languages, can't we? Is that even a sin?
My conclusion:
We should stick to the PPSMI policy. How long must Malaysia live under a nutshell? I just don't get it. The policy has only been implented for less than 6 years and they are saying...IT AIN'T GONNA WORK...isn't that so shallowed-minded? This shows that the government has no faith in us, the students. They do not believe that we would be able to master English. How can they possibly think that Malaysia is going to be a great country in the future if they do not have faith in the younger generation?
How can they expect results only after implenting the policy for less than 6 years? 6 years is very short. To gain real results, it would take many years. Maybe 10? Maybe 15? To wake you up. Did we gain independence day within 6 years? Did we? Did we? No, we did not! We took many, many years in order to gain it. We had to suffer. We had to go through so much pain. Everything takes time. The government just needs to have a little faith.
Lastly, I do not support BM in Science and Maths. I would truly hope that the government would re-think about their descision as it would involve the whole Malaysia and the future of this country. I say, one mistake could lead to a very, very big failure. We are not talking about little things but the future of Malaysia! The future of our beloved country! Please, the government. Open your ears, open your eyes. Start to listen to the little voices of this country and not just yours.
That is all.
A student who would like to see a change.
For Malaysia.
